COI - Army Recruiting Group

The ARG wanted to show just hw many skills it teaches which are transferablke to life and jobs in general. Working closely with COI representing the Army Recruiting Group and with all COI agencies involved in the cross media campaign behind the Army ascent on Everest, the interactive advertising application is accessed via the red button during Army adverts, and was also permanently running on Sky Active. Having built the framework of the site and in close conjunction with Sky Interactive, the new style flexible DAL is a first for Sky and builds on prior experience of the Scarlettec team who created the Transport for London site on Sky Active.

The Flexi DAL ingests and transcodes blogs, news updates and latest position data from the main web site supporting the ascent (www.armyoneverest.mod.com). Data is transcoded passed on via Scarlettec’s enterprise grade servers, and automatically churns it into the satellite service. Video footage is also received from Everest, encoded and delivered to Sky ready for immediate upload into broadcast at set periods conforming to the rolling linear TV ad campaign. Viewers using the application followed the unfolding story behind the ascent, the teams and Everest, but also found out about Army life and the skills and experiences acquired whilst in the Regular or Territorial Army.

Community Channel

A trailblazing TV channel, broadcasting on Freeview, NTL, Telewest, Sky and now the web too, funded by The Media Trust. Community Channel is the UK's first interactive broadcaster and leads the way in combining their programming with their interactive initiatives.

Scarlettec has been working with the Community Channel on a number of developments:

In addition to these interactive TV applications, Scarlettec provides Community Channel with a web-based content management (CMS) tool that lets the channel's own staff update its content on a daily basis.

Puzzler Media puzzle games

Puzzler Media is the UK's largest puzzle game publisher by a long-shot. They own over 50% of the printed market and have ambitious and well-advanced digital aspirations that encompass all digital media platforms.

Scarlettec built a puzzling portal on Telewest and is in the process of rolling out a separate portal to take advantage of the phenomenon that Puzzler Media are responsible for importing into the UK.

Transport for London

TfL, responsible for all aspects of getting London's millions from A to B, have a rather clever application called the Journey Planner that tells you what buses, tube trains and river taxis you need to take to get you to your destination.

Scarlettec came up with a novel approach to get the Journey Planner on TV...

Antistax for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals

Antistax, a circulation stimulation cream and (to some, but not us) a surprising candidate for an interactive commercial - where the usual understanding is that only cars and sexy FMCG brands can benefit from red button advertising - used Press Red to carry out an interactive sampling campaign which was so successful that it had to be pulled after the first day...
